A reservoir project is almost complete in Fannin County and soon be impounding water to supply areas across North Texas, including all of Royse City and Rockwall County.
The North Texas Municipal Water District reported in late January that the dam at the Lower Bois d’Arc Reservoir is only about two vertical feet away from where it needs to be to start impounding (or holding) water.
After the initial level is reached, the lake can begin to fill with water, which is scheduled for March of this year. Additional soil will still need to be added to complete the dam, about 16 more feet up and 445,000 cubic yards total.
