Manufacturing in Royse City

The many manufacturing companies that call Royse City home are leaders in technology and good workplace practices, produce high quality products, and consistently innovate to keep in step with and progress their industries. Companies that are producing in the region include J&M Plastics, Inc., Epsi Inc., USA Machine, Unique Powder Coating, Inc., Texas Medical Industries (TMI), United Diecasting, Texas Cabinets Direct, Performance Powder Works, and Dust Free.

Spotlight on Expansion: Dust Free

Dust Free is a family owned and operated business headquartered in Royse City that was established in July 1982 as a manufacturing company specializing in air filtration equipment designed to provide a clean indoor environment for allergy patients.

Dust Free, Royse CityTexas natives, Gilbert and Jane Burnett, formed the company to meet the health needs of their own family. The first filters were built in Gil's garage, but rapid growth soon required that the company be moved to a 4,000-square-foot building in the Industrial Park in Royse City. The demand soared through the subsequent years until they needed to obtain a larger manufacturing space located at 1112 Industrial Drive, Royse City, that today totals 37,000 square feet. But that total is about to increase with a new 30,000-square-foot factory expansion.

“The indoor air quality sector of the greater heating and air conditioning industry continues to grow and expand,” said Gregg Burnett, Dust Free CEO and owner. “With the current events of the world, and the increasing challenges in cleaning the air in our schools, homes, and businesses, the need for our product solutions — and variety of solutions themselves — continues to increase. We want to always be in the best position to provide relief to that growing need in a thoughtful, safe, and effective manner. Increasing our manufacturing capacity, logistics capability, and versatility of interest are the pathways to meeting these needs and challenges.”

The expansion is anticipated to create new job opportunities. Dust Free now employs more than 130 family team members at peak, and it is anticipated that this number will increase with the expanded capabilities.

Dust Free, Royse CityDust Free has been pleased to be located in Royse City because its proximity to the DFW metroplex, lanes of commerce to North America, and reach to the global marketplace make it ideal for manufacturing, according to Burnett. “The entrepreneurial history, hardworking spirit of the City, and being citizens of the North Texas community at large is very important to Dust Free and something we are very proud of.”

Royse City Community Development Corporation has been working with Dust Free to assist them with the case-by-case customized incentives that are their trademark.

“We are pleased and proud to work and partner closely with Charles Houk and the Royse City Community Development Corporation,” said Burnett. “When we began the planning of this expansion, a quick view of the landscape made it clear to us that further investing in Royse City and partnering with the RCCDC was the clear path. With Charles and RCCDC, we were grateful and pleased to work together on a series of incentives to enhance our $3 million plus expansion investment. Though the final figure will be finalized in coming weeks, we are extremely appreciative and proud of the RCCDC investment in our vision and company, our partnership with BBT/Truist Bank, and the people of Royse City.”

“Dust Free was founded on the idea of providing relief and solutions to discomfort and poor air quality,” said Burnett. “We are proud of the investment and growth we realize today upon the foundation built by Gil and Jane Burnett. Heather Burnett and I, as well as our family, and our extended Dust Free family, are committed to continuing into the future developing and delivering upon those ideals. We are proud to manufacture and provide those solutions from right here in Royse City, Texas, USA.”
