Texas once again in 2021 took the top spot in Site Selection Magazine’s Global Groundwork Index, a measure of the state’s success in combined infrastructure and corporate end-user project investment, the Atlanta-based magazine announced Thursday, Sept. 2.
While Texas has maintained its #1 spot in the rankings for four years, the United States dropped from #1 in 2020 to #5 in 2021 rankings, with Canada now in the top spot.
“Texas has a record of maintaining its status as an economic powerhouse, even in adverse conditions like the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Robert Allen, President and CEO of the Texas Economic Development Corporation in Austin, Texas. “Texas invests in our infrastructure to ensure we are ready for the future job and population growth that has come our way and will continue to come our way.”
