Public Information Request

TEXAS PUBLIC INFORMATION ACT

YOUR RIGHTS:

Texas Government Code 552 gives individuals access to inspect or request a copy of certain governmental records.  The law also details specific instances that allow a governmental body to withhold government records from the public. Click the link for more information on Texas Government Code 552, also known as the Texas Public Information Act (PIA).

As a local government entity, the Royse City Community Development Corporation (RCCDC) is subject to the requirements of the PIA.

OUR RESPONSIBILITY:

The Records Management Officer is required to provide the requested information for inspection or a copy by the 10th day from the day request was received.  The PIA does not require governmental bodies to create new information, perform legal research, or answer questions. The request must pertain to records or information already in existence as of the date of the written request.

Please note:  As prescribed by law or regulation, the RCCDC may collect a fee for the requested documents. If a fee is not prescribed by law or regulation, the fee shall be the actual cost of duplicating the record.

PROCEDURE:

All public information requests must be submitted in writing to the Records Management Officer via mail, email, or hand delivery.  This procedure ensures accurate documentation of the date of each request.  Please include a detailed description of the requested information to help facilitate the fulfillment of your request within the prescribed period.  Click on the link provided to fill out the public information request form
