Eye on Royse City: Texas Scores Top Ten Spots for Business and Crypto in Latest CNBC Rankings
27 Jul 2022
For the 15th annual “Top States for Business” ranking, empirical data was gathered on all 50 states across 88 metrics in ten broad categories of competitiveness. The categories were weighted based on how frequently states use them in economic development efforts. For the first time, states’ viability in the crypto economy was assessed. The Technology and Innovation category included a measure of each state’s share of computational power or “hash rate.” The Business Friendliness category gave special consideration to how states are regulating the increasingly important crypto industry.
Breaking down the categories for Texas, the Lone Star State scored well in areas like workforce (No. 2 overall), technology and innovation (No. 4), and the economy (No. 8). Royse City, Texas, offers all of this, and more. Part of the Dallas Metroplex, the City has doubled in population twice and is expected to grow by 31.9 percent from 2019 to 2024. What’s unique about Royse City is the availability of commercial space, considering land is hard to come by in Dallas proper. Royse City has a variety of properties — some of which are adjacent to the interstate — at more affordable prices.
Royse City also brings a personalized approach to the table for companies looking to expand or get started. The Royse City Community Development Corporation (CDC) offers business incentives tailored to a company or entrepreneur’s needs.
“We take all of the requests we get on a case-by-case basis, so we aren’t locked into one program that a business has to fit into,” said Charles Houk, Executive Director, Royse City CDC.
“We can customize incentives based on the needs of each business. We get to know them, figure out what is important, and provide what will assist them the most.”
Additionally, businesses choosing the City have the collective power of the Royse City Chamber of Commerce and the Royse City Main Street Program, working together with the CDC to support new and existing businesses looking to grow and invest in the community.
Royse City also shines brightly in quality of life measures. While this category did not hold the highest marks for Texas as a whole, Royse City is known as “one of the friendliest towns in Texas.” It combines small town charm, strong schools, and safe neighborhoods with access to a workforce of over 3.7 million and the resources of the Dallas Metroplex. Royse City is the balanced intersection of where you want to live and where it’s easy to do business.
Burgeoning crypto companies would do well to locate in Royse City with its available properties and proximity to the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport since Texas is consistently at or near the top for mining capacity. Electricity is affordable even before the special deals available for crypto miners, and Texas regulations focus on giving cryptocurrencies a solid foundation for growth.
